Dear Student,

Practice your spelling words every night this week. Use activities in each category and complete at least one activity every night. You don't need to do every activitiy. Have fun!

Auditory (Sound)
  • Speak Out - Say each word. Spell each word out loud. ____
  • Sing Out - Make up a song. Sing each word and each letter. ____
  • Spelling Bee - Have someone say each word. Repeat the word and spell it. ____
  • Syllables - Say each word. Count the number of syllables in the word. ____
  • Jingle - Say a jingle where the last words rhyme. For example, "I see a fat dog. He sits on a log." ____

Kinesthetic (Action)

  • Write - Trace, write, and alphabetize the list of words. ____
  • Flash Cards - Use do-flash to print flash cards. Say and sort each word into the correct envelopes. ____
  • Nitty Gritty - Write each word in the sand or on a blackboard. Check it before erasing. ____
  • Type - Choose an online game to type words like go-guess or go-save. ____

  • Play - Use online games like go-spin or go-bkout games to play. ____
  • Hidden Words - Use the go-spy or go-match games to find hidden words. ____
  • Worksheets - Complete worksheets like do-choose, do-xout, or do-match. ____

  • Rhyme Sentence - Write a sentence with a spelling and a rhyming word. For example, I fell into the well. ____

  • Find Words - Read a newspaper or magazine to find the words. Count the number of words found. ____
