Managing a Spelling Club

Tearn makes it easy to start and manage a Spelling Club at your school, church, or daycare.

Course Planning
  • Tearn supplies 50 to 100 words a week in a ten week course. You can review and change the word lists. Your enrolled students learn 500 to 1,500 total words depending on the age group.
  • Tearn supplies daily activities that include worksheets, online games, and learning games. Club members receive all materials online. There is minimal administration.
Club Promotion
  • Approve the word lists. Then, schedule the class to allow enrollment.
  • TEARN supplies printable and online flyers for distribution via learners.
  • Tearn manages the enrollment.
    • Parents can enroll online using credit cards.
    • Parents can also use cash and checks to enroll through the club volunteer.
    • Tearn manages the distribution of earned fees.
Weekly Activities
  • Daily Tearn activities guide members through the words for the week. Members choose among hundreds of worksheet styles, online games, and learning games.
  • Tearn supplies a Weekly Spelling Bee that volunteers use with members at weekly meetings.
  • Tearn automates certificates to weekly winners.
  • Tearn tracks every club member to provide vital statistics on learning effort.
Fund Raising
  • Parents pay a suggested $50 per student for 50 hours of learning. This $1 per hour cost is lower than buying workbooks from grocery stores. It is one tenth the cost of supplemental learning through retail learning centers.
  • Tearn receives a fee of $30 per student.
  • Your organization can charge $50 or any amount over $30 for club fees. The club fee less the Tearn fee can reimburse the volunteer, raise funds for the PTA or other organization, or contribute to the General Fund.
  • A typical school can earn $2,000 per club. With multiple clubs per semester, a school can earn over $20,000 per year.
Tearn makes it simple. Learners gain extracurricula activities that deliver positive fun. Parents pay less for learning activities. And schools have a substantial fund raising plan.
